Appointed Office Information

The deadline for appointed office submissions is fast approaching (April 22nd at 11:59 p.m.)!

We need more students to apply for office this year, and holding an officer position on the TSJCL Student Executive Board provides an incredible opportunity to work with a group of like-minded, passionate people to give back to the TSJCL.

Now that elections are over, one student from each chapter can apply and be interviewed for an appointed position. In Article III of the TSJCL Bylaws, no chapter may have more than two positions on the Student Executive Board, so there is already an elected officer from your school, you may also apply for an appointed position.

The positions of Treasurer, Parliamentarian, Editor, and Webmaster are appointed. Eligibility for office and each position’s role are described in the TSJCL Bylaws, which potential candidates and their sponsors are encouraged to read carefully.

All applicants need to submit the TSJCL Officer Nomination Form, a resume, and a cover letter in an email to both [email protected] and [email protected]. All applicants will also need to have an interview between the day they submit their application and the Spring Board Meeting, where officers will be decided.

Please note:

  • Applicants for Editor will need to submit examples of their work: a mock-up Torch cover.

  • Applicants for Webmaster have the option to submit a mock-up website section/page.

Once we receive the application with all necessary materials, we will reach out to you to schedule a time for your interview, which will be with the parliamentarian, a State Chair, and another officer.

Feel free to email [email protected] with any questions or concerns! If you have any specific questions about an officer’s duties, feel free to reach out to them - you can find their emails on the officers page of the TSJCL website.
